Who out there is a Bacon fan?

 

Well, we have come up with a BACON COMBO that we’re sure you’ll love.  Paesano has teamed up with our good friend, Ann Arbor native and well-known local author John U. BACON for a special offer starting this Thursday – The BACON COMBO.

 

Starting Thursday, April 2 and for the next several days we will be featuring a Bacon Fettuccine Cabonara dish and pairing it with John U. Bacon’s latest book release, “The Best of Bacon: Select Cuts” (see the combo there, Bacon and Bacon).  And, the books will all be signed by John! Cost is $32.95 (includes salad or soup, rolls and butter).  All proceeds from this special will go to help unemployed restaurant employees in the area.

 

For our Vegan followers we can substitute the bacon with your choice of eggplant or mushrooms and Gluten Free fettuccine.  Add a bottle of Inama Soave for $17 or Fini Pinot Grigio for $9, two wines that will go perfect with this dish.

 

The Best of Bacon (UM Press)presents both new and familiar stories by John U. Bacon, all centered on sports in Michigan. Best known for his acclaimed books on college football, Bacon’s writing has been praised for going beyond traditional Xs and Os sports reporting.

 

From John U. Bacon. “I wrote these stories between 1992 and 2018. They cover a dozen different sports for a dozen different media outlets, from the Ann Arbor Newsto National Public Radio, and they stretch from a couple pages to a dozen. But they have one thing in common: they all meant a lot to me when I wrote them, and they still do today.”

 

The Bacon family lives across the street from us and I have watched the rambunctious, sports loving youngster grow into the amazing and talented person he is today.
